ABOUT THE ARTISTProfile

2002年、音楽ユニット sixty_piko/piko を結成。

60piko Tino began exploring music production with synthesizers and sequencers during his high school years, performing with various bands and musical projects along the way.

His interests extended beyond music itself to costumes, theatrical presentation, and occasionally unconventional experiments. Throughout his musical journey, he has embraced a free-spirited approach, unconstrained by genres or established forms.

In 2002, he formed the electronic music duo sixty_piko/piko, gaining recognition as a synthesist through the group's activities.

Their debut album, a butterfly life, was released on WEEZ. The duo won first place in an audition held by Consipio Records, and their music was selected for an international television commercial for CHOYA, expanding their creative reach beyond Japan.

Working with both synthesizers and guitars, Tino moves freely between electronic soundscapes and acoustic textures, continually exploring his own musical language.

His musical interests are wide-ranging, from early music and rock to contemporary electronic music. Discovering music that moves him, regardless of its era or genre, remains an essential source of creative inspiration.

In his compositions, he pays close attention not only to melody and structure but also to the character of individual sounds, spatial resonance, lingering reverberations, and silence.

He finds beauty not only in polished, carefully crafted sounds but also in subtle imperfections, delicate fluctuations, and the quieter, shadowed qualities of music.

Currently based in Kyoto, he serves as the representative director of AMATUBU Rec. Inc., where his work encompasses composition, recording, mixing, mastering, audio restoration, and the digitization and preservation of archival sound recordings and video.

Drawing on his background in classical vocal training, he also provides vocal coaching for pop singers. Rather than relying solely on abstract imagery or subjective advice, his teaching emphasizes practical techniques, including breathing, physical coordination, and vocal resonance.

Alongside his ongoing work with sixty_piko/piko, he is developing new compositions and recordings under his solo name, 60piko Tino.

After many years devoted to music, his curiosity remains unchanged. The excitement of discovering unfamiliar sounds and the desire to create something new continue to inspire him.

Music never stops being fascinating.
